I spent last weekend in Southern Maine and had a great time! Besides the fact that it was overcast and rainy the entire time, I managed to go to a beach and sit in the sun for a few hours before it began raining.
I went with my relatives to a beach in Biddeford. I wanted to go to Old Orchard Beach, but was promised that this beach was nicer, and they were right! It wasn't overcrowded like Old Orchard normally is. It had just enough people to keep things interesting, but not enough to make you feel cramped.
I also went to a Whole Foods store in Portland for my first time, and it was awesome! I literally inhaled their soy yogurt, it was SO good! That night I also went to a Japanese Restaurant with a Hibachi grill for the first time- talk about entertaining! I ordered something out back, as they cooked with eggs, but the man who was cooking left to cook my meal in the kitchen himself afterwards, which was really nice.
While the vacation was much needed, I was ready to go home afterwards! We were gone two nights, so I just told the petsitter to leave the ferrets in their cage as it was less worry for me (not everyone can juggle three squirmy ferrets). They went NUTS when I was home, and those two nights of no play were soon forgiven after a few N-Bones and Vivify!

New Scissors!
| Image from Hancockfabrics.com |
Yesterday I managed to travel the 3 hours to the nearest Joann's fabric store to buy anti-pill fleece to match the cottons I have listed in the Upcoming Materials slide on The Vogue Ferret's store's main page. I had a 40% off coupon and went to put it towards the fleece, but they were already on sale, and the 40% off coupon excluded sale items. What was I supposed to do with a 40% off coupon? I planted myself in front of the Gingher scissors and drooled over them. If I used the coupon, I could get these almost $40 scissors for $22! It was too good of a deal to pass up. I caved and indulged in them.
Needless to say, they work amazing. They are heavy and really durable. I would bet money that my uncle's 18-wheeler could drive over these things and they would still cut. I tried them, and they cut through four layers of fleece like nobody's business. I am in love!

A Visitor
| What type of bird is he? |
I will admit that I am NOT very bird-savvy. Does anyone know what type of bird he is? He has red on the back of his head, polka-dot feathers on his chest, a long beak, and large wings in relation to his body that are yellow on the inside. Whatever he is, there is no doubt that he is extremely cute!
